Vivian's Nursery

Vivian's nursery is one of my favorite rooms in our home.  It is such a calm and peaceful room that has one of the comfiest chairs in the whole house!  I do a lot of my pumping in there instead of in our bedroom just because I love it in there.

Hubs and Bubba painted the room a neutral color at my request.  I knew I was not going to do have blush and bashful (In the words of Shelby from Steel Magnolias) as her theme colors.  I opted to have pops of pink throughout the room instead.  I looked for fabric prints in not so traditional girl colors, but feminine themes.  Rifle Paper Company has the most gorgeous floral illustrations, so when I found a vendor on Etsy that could make the crib sheet, changing pad and Boppy covers using one of the latest designs from Rifle Paper Company, there was no other answer for me...but YES!  The main colors are navy, periwinkle and a coral/pink.

My other thoughts about Vivian's room is that I wanted it to look classic and demure.  No sparkles or tulle allowed.  It may be a little too plain for some, but the pictures really do not do the room justice.  The only thing the room lacks is curtains, but since she will be sleeping in a bassinet for another couple months in our room...I am not in a big hurry about the curtains right now.

I made sure to have nothing heavy on the walls above the crib.  I ordered the vinyl decal of her monogram on Etsy and the wreath is made from a paper flower banner I purchased from Target this past spring.

My mother and I found this birdcage for the wall on clearance at Michael's back in the spring.  I was not sure what I would use it for at the time, but it ended up being the perfect place to store some of my favorite bows of Viv's.

disregard missing outlet cover. I have broken two by screwing new ones on to tight...true story...

I also found the art deco "V" at Michael's on clearance when I found the birdcage.

These are three of my favorite products for Viv.  If she has actual diaper rash that we are trying to get cleared up we always use Boudreax's Butt Paste, but when we are just trying to maintain and protect her bottom, I use Baby Bee Multi-Purpose Ointment.  I also love the dusting powder by Burt's Bees as well.  It has a delicate smell and works really well.  Lastly, Babyganics is my favorite for all things bath.  I have everything from lotion to eczema cream, shampoo and body wash to vapor bath from Babyganics.  I love and trust this brand.  It is a little more expensive, but its lasts a long time and is very gentle on baby skin.

There you have it.  Vivian's nursery in a nutshell.  Happy Monday, friends!!
